Lithological description
Massive volcanic (lava) rocks and brecciated volcanic agglomerates. Trachyte, Phonolite, biotite pyroxenite, leucitite.
Depositional setting
Volcanic neck which forms part of a dome-like structure.
Definition of lower boundary
The base of the formation has not yet been penetrated.
Definition of upper boundary
Onlap of the Vlieland Sandstone Formation.
Thickness indication
Up to 1058 m (ZDW-01).
