Delivering groundwater monitoring data

Contact the BRO Servicedesk for explanation and help in these situations:

  • Your organisation is an administrative body and your would like to provide supplements or corrections of wells that exist in DINO.
  • Your organisation is an administrative body and you are responsible for wells in DINO, which you (may) want to migrate to the BRO.
  • You are in doubt if it concerns data that may be indirectly from an administrative body? Even then contact the BRO Servicedesk.

In other situations the delivery specification on this page are applicable and some advise is:

  • If you intend to deliver well data (or supplements or correction on those) to DINO, in advance requesting an NITG-nummer is no longer applicable.
  • For wells registered in the BRO you could, for now, still deliver groundwater level or elevation data to DINO (see additional specification at 3.2). Please do! In this case it is not relevant if you organisation is an administrative body or not.

NOTE: Data about surface water levels derived from gauges will not be included in the BRO. For now, you could still supply them to DINO. Contact info@dinoloket.nl to deliver such data.

1. Data of new groundwater monitoring wells

1.1 How can I deliver data?

Exclusively per per email via info@dinoloket.nl.

1.2 In which format could I deliver data?

For the delivery of data of wells that are not yet registered in DINO a standard Excel form is available (only in Dutch). The content should comply with the BRO quality regime IMBRO/A. It can be used in MS-Excel version 2007 or later. (If opening the file directly does not work, you are advised to store the form in your environment first before opening.)

1.3 Which conditions apply to the data?

The standard form contains information about mandatory data elements in DINO and which must have a value. In addition, the header information of the columns indicate the used unit of measurement and examples are shown in mouse-over tooltips.

1.4 What will be validated?

After delivery the data will be validated for IMBRO/A content and conditions.

1.5 What is the processing timespan?

Processing of the data takes twenty workdays on average.

1.6 Do I receive a notification of the validation and processing?

You will receive a notification if the data are not conform the agreed format and/or the conditions. If the data are valid, then you will receive an overview of the registered well data. From that moment your are able to register groundwater level or elevation data (see section 4).

1.7 Where will the data be made available?

The data is only available via DINOloket if also groundwater level or elevation data are registered.

1.8 What are the costs?

Registring new groundwater monitoring well data is free of charge if the delivered data complies with the mentioned format and conditions.

1.9 Other questions?

Are you not able to comply with the requested format or specifications, or do you have more questions, contact us via info@dinoloket.nl.

2. Supplementing and/or correction (meta)data of existing groundwater monitoring wells

2.1 How can I deliver data?

Exclusively perĀ email via info@dinoloket.nl.

2.2 In which format could I deliver data and which condition apply?

Updating and/or supplementing technical or administrative data of groundwater monitoring wells already exiting in DINO can not be done using the standard form, but is a custom process, because it requires several steps with validations. In consultation with you we agree on the most efficient approach.

2.3 What will be validated?

After delivery the data will be validated for IMBRO/A content and conditions.

2.4 What is the processing timespan?

Processing of the data is depending on the size of the data set. A small data set takes twenty workdays on average.

2.5 Do I receive a notification of the validation and processing?

You will receive a notification if the data are not conform the agreed format and/or the conditions. If the data are valid, then you will receive an processing confirmation.

2.6 What are the costs?

Processing updates or supplements of groundwater monitoring well data is a custom process and is not part of our standard service. A small request will be processed free of charge. For larger requests, for instance well data for a complete monitoring network, a quote will be provided in consultation with you.

2.7 What changes with the Subsurface Key Register (Basisregistratie Ondergrond, BRO)?

As soon as groundwater monitoring wells are part of the BRO, you could deliver your corrections and/or supplements of groundwater monitoring wells already registered in the BRO not to the DINO department anymore. From that moment on, you could supply your data directly to the BRO. See www.basisregistratieondergrond.nl (in Dutch) for more information. For DINO wells you could email your corrections and supplements to info@dinoloket.nl.

3. Delivery of Groundwater level or elevation data

3.1 How can I deliver data?

Exclusively per email via info@dinoloket.nl.

3.2 In which format could I deliver data?

For the delivery of groundwater level or elevation data, for registration in DINO, of wells not registered DINO but in the BRO, alternative delivery specifications apply. It concerns small changes in the current delivery format (named the NITG-format)(in Dutch) that should guarentee that groundwater level data refers to the correct BRO well. In The rows with groundwater level data (below the header row) instead of filling the NITG number (which is no longer applicable to a BRO well) the BRO-id should be given. as shown in this example file.

Currently, no naming convention exists for these files. However, we recommend, to make them more recognizable, to use the BRO-id of the well in the file name, for example 'GWlevels_jan2019_GMW0000345.txt'. The files could be supplied to the DINO department via info@dinoloket.nl.

3.3 Which condition apply?

No additional conditions apply.

3.4 What will be validated?

After delivery, the files will be validated on format and conditions.

3.5 What is the processing timespan?

Processing of the data takes thirty workdays on average.

3.6 Do I receive a notification of the validation and processing?

You will receive a notification if the data are not conform the agreed format and/or the conditions. If the data are valid, then you will receive a processing confirmation.

3.7 Where will data be made available?

After the data are processed in DINO, they are immediately available via DINOloket.nl.

3.8 What are the costs?

Registration of these data is free of charge if the delivered files are conform the specified format and conditions.

3.9 What changes with the Subsurface Key Register (Basisregistratie Ondergrond, BRO)?

As soon as groundwater level data are part of the BRO, groundwater level or elevation data could not be delivered to DINO anymore. From that moment on, you could supply your data directly to the BRO. See www.basisregistratieondergrond.nl (in Dutch) for more information.

3.10 More questions?
