Image of material sampled from a borehole. The image may be in natural colour or black and white, or may have been taken with special equipment, such as an X-ray device, or using special light or a specific filter. Most images show cores that are split lengthwise. Documenting the in situ structures present in these undisturbed samples provides important added value that complements borehole logs.
