Lithologische beschrijving
Sequence of white to grey, fine- to medium-grained sandstones interbedded with siltstones and claystones, dispersed coal particles are common.
Afzettingsmilieu
The member reflects a lower-coastal-plain setting. The sandstones were deposited by fluvial channels. Marine influence was minor.
Definitie ondergrens
Conformably overlies the flood-plain fines of the Driehuis Mottled Claystone Member or the Fourteens Claystone Member.
Definitie bovengrens
Overlain by the Neomiodon Claystone Member, or it is unconformably overlain by the Helm Member or Vlieland Sandstone Formation.

Up to 271 m.
Geografische verbreiding
Restricted to those parts of the Broad Fourteens Basin where Late Kimmerian truncation is limited (P03-Q01-K18-K15).
Regionale correlatie
Locally, this member may be a lateral equivalent of part of the Neomiodon Claystone Member.
Ouderdom
latest Tithonian - earliest Berriasian (middle-late Volgian (Late Portlandian) to Ryazanian).

Oorsprong naam
Named after the town of Bloemendaal in the south of the Dutch province of Noord-Holland. It lies approximately on strike projection from the offshore type locality.
