Lithological description
Grey loam, humic and sandy, with intercalated sand laminae and plant remains. Brown amorphous peat, clayey, silty or sandy. Locally, yellowish grey gyttja layers, calcareous.
Depositional setting
Periglacial lacustrine, small-scale fluvial (flood basin).
Definition of lower boundary
Gradual transition into the other facies of the Boxtel Formation.
Definition of upper boundary
Erosive contact with fluvioperiglacial sand (Singraven Member, Boxtel Formation).
Thickness indication
Up to 10 m.
Geographical distribution
Former glacial basins in the eastern Netherlands and locally in the western Netherlands.
