The lithostratigraphic interpretation provided through DINOloket is authorised by the Geological Survey of the Netherlands. The authorisation distinguishes three levels of quality:
- The interpretation has been made in the context of the DGM subsurface model, which is based on some 26,500 detailed borehole logs. This selected set of lithostratigraphic interpretations has been validated as part of the modelling process and is therefore of high quality (quality level 1).
- The interpretation has been made independently from the subsurface-modelling effort and has not been validated (quality level 2).
- The interpretation has been generated automatically within the context of the GeoTOP subsurface model that queries hundreds of thousands of borehole descriptions for key lithological characteristics and depth ranges. In view of the large number of interpretations assigned, only random checks are performed (quality level 3).
