Lithological description

Fine- to medium-grained, whitish to light-brown sandstone. The sandstone generally contains intercalated claystone beds (Geluk et al., 1996, 1997).

Depositional setting

Sabkha to shallow marine setting.

Definition of lower boundary

Placed at the top of the Z1 Fringe Carbonate, or the Z1 Lower Claystone Member.

Definition of upper boundary

Placed at the base of the Red-brown Salt Clay Member.

Up to 69 m.
