Lithologische beschrijving

Hard and soft, mainly grey-white to yellow-brown, argillaceous marl with many burrows and yellow concretions. The lowermost beds generally consist of dark green marly clay.

Afzettingsmilieu

Near coastal to shallow marine.

Definitie ondergrens

Sharp transition to the sands of the underlying Heers Member, with relatively low gamma-ray readings.

Definitie bovengrens

Gradual transition to the overlying Liessel Member, which is expressed on gamma-ray logs by higher readings for the Liessel Member. On resistivity logs the marl can be very clearly distinguished by higher readings than the overlying Liessel Member.
